Adventure is Out There!!!!

Wow! Talk about a whirlwind couple of weeks. I honestly cannot even describe my excitement about being here in Disney and being able to work, of course, for Mickey Mouse. And of course whenever I get the chance to see him now and then, when he is out greeting guests, and of course, representing the company, I get to say "Hi, Boss!" Very fun indeed! So as we all know I am here, living, working, and learning in the magical place called Disneyworld where "even the trash smells like magic" according to my roomate Robin. I had my introduction to the company, got to move into my lovely apartment in Patterson (On the first floor by the pool!) and have gotten to have an awesome time getting to know my roomates, people in my classes, and my training group! Before all of my training started I got to have a great day visiting the parks for what I felt like was the first time. i honestly can't remember the last time I visited the parks, except for a few special memories like: meeting with Max, Space Mountain, and of course meeting Dale at Chef Mickey's! So getting to go the parks was like a whoooole new experience for me. And it was awesome!

My friend Jake actually got me a First Timer pin the first time we went to Hollywood Studios! It was so sweet! I've had a blast and I'm glad I got to see the final days of Star Wars Weekends.
And when we went to see Dream Along with Mickey it was actually canceled! So the characters did meet and greets and I got a chance to take pictures with Snow White and Prince Charming!!!!
Anddddddd Blogger doesn't want to post anythung else right now sooooo I'll post another post later with more!!!

Check In!

I can't wait to see everyone at check in tomorrow! And I just want to say:

Here!!!

Just arrived in Orlando with check in tomorrow! The drive was a fun one with my Dad we started in Beaumont TX, and drove on I-10 all the way to I-75 to Orlando...taking a nice little detour on Highway 27. A very fun scenic route...with a stop light every mile. Good times! In Baton Rouge we ran into some severe weather:
But we skirted along the outside. But it was a lot of fun we took Highway 90 for a little while starting at Gulfshores and ending at Biloxi MS! Where we stopped to eat at Hogs Heaven BBQ and Blues! We scarfed down that food like there was no tomorrow. We ate a giant plate filled with a ton of food plus a free dessert that I found out of a coupon book and we finishied it all! Talk about some fun! Then we kept going and ended up settling for the night in Pensacola. That morning we got to get up and go to the beach, as you can see:
In Mississippi we went to the welcome center and lo behold NASA!!! I, being me, with the nickname Spacegirl, was super excited!!!

How cool is that right?

Anyways I am super excited for check in tomorrow! I am meeting up at Vista with my friends at 7:00 in the morning so it should be fun! I can't wait to check in and start my Disney program experience!

Four Days!!!!

Wow Four Days left until I check in for my DCP! I can't believe it's that soon! Tomorrow I'm flying to Texas to begin my fourteen hour trip to Orlando. Now let me just point out that this is my car:
But not this color. Anyways I have to fit all of my stuff for seven months, plus me and my dad into this car for a fourteen hour trip. Ohhhhh boy it's gonna be an adventure. As far as I can tell I'm pretty much packed, so now I just have to find some way to squeeze it all into my car. I've already informed my dad that he might have to be strapped to the roof for everything to fit! Haha It should be a fun drive though! I can't wait to meet all of my new friends and my roomies. And I can't wait to start character training! And meet all of my new best friends ;)

Hmmm

Well...here's the thing...being at home has made me epically fail my Disney Countdown. It was much easier, earlier however now I am busy with you know, packing, hanging out with my family, solving world hunger, you know, the usual stuff. So I have decided to put the countdown on a hiatus and instead talk about...everything else! First up I saw the new pirates today! Can I just say that I looooved it! I was a little worried without them having Elizabeth or Jack in the film, but I think they did swimmingly and I already can't wait for the next installment so Four Stars for Pirates!
Next I really just don't think I can express how excited I am for Disney! I've been excited for this for so long and now that it's only Five Days away from check in I'm getting so excited! I can't wait to start the next phase of my journey...so to speak. Well anyways that's all for now! I'm just gonna slide on out of here!

Procrastination

Ok so if you haven't noticed I am obviously a huge procrastinator when it comes to this whole blogging thing. However being home with my family has kept me happpily distracted. However I DO plan to catch up on my wonderful countdown to the DCP by doing a condensed version of all of the past days that I have so wonderfully missed.
Ok so number one is My Favorite Kiss!!!! Ok well this is a toughy but I think my favorite would have to be:
It's just so cute!!!!!!

So number two out of the procrastination catch up is The First Movie I Ever EVER Saw... that was made by Disney:
That would of course be Dumbo! I loved this movie when I was a kid, creepy elephant marching scene and all...

Ok next up on the list is My Favorite Classic:
Lion King!!!! I love this movie so much and it's one of those that I could watch again and again!

Next up is my least favorite classic. Now this one is easy:
I honestly can't stand Pinocchio! I just don't like it and really don't think I ever will. It's creepy and I don't like the donkey people, and I really don't like the idea of getting eaten by a whale!

Next is My Favorite Pixar Film. Now this one is hard because there are so many that I like. Now the one that I've watched the most and absolutely love, so I think it will have to win this round is:
Finding Nemo!!!! I love this movie!

And lastly on my catch up days is My Least Favorite Pixar Film. Now this is also really hard because I honestly like all of the Pixar films. But if I had to pick I would say that my least favorite would have to be:
Ratatouille is yuck. I really just don't like this movie very much for some reason.

Anyways...that's all for now and hopefully I'll be much more productive on this in the near future!

Day twelve and thirteen...

So I am obviously becoming worse and worse with these progressive posts. I need to step up my game and stay on top of it! Ok so coming right up is my favorite villain sone and my least favorite song ever!
Ok so first up is my favorite villian song. I would have to say, by a new favorite would have to be Mother Know's Best from Tangled! I love this song and the character herself. She is so horribly self centered, it makes a good story! So of course coming right up the Youtube video for Mother Knows Best:
Now stepping right up for the winner of LEAST FAVORITE SONG! This is a difficult category with some pretty good competitors but I would have to say the worst one of all time would have to be Trust in Me from the Jungle Book. Not only did it scare me as a little kid, but it's just not the most appealing song in the world. So winning this round with Trust in Me, Kaa the Snake everyone:
I just want to let you all know I am so excited about coming to Disney World! Every day that it inches closer I get more and more excited! To hear people's stories about check in and everything just makes me want to get there faster! I'll be there soon Disney! And guys guess what?! I'm done with school till January! It's so crazy!  High Five!
Thanks for the High Five Emma and Daniel! Much appreciated! I also enjoy the little skip there at the end...

Day Number Eleven!!!

I ended up with a 3.75 for the semester!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! I'm so excited that I ended up with that and I am so thankful for getting so close to my teachers this semester. I can tell all of you that it would be the best thing to do to get close to your teachers!!!!! Oh and a new funny story so I have blond hair but I like my hair a little lighter than it naturally is. So I used this new Mouse Hair color thing to brighten up my hair yesterday because I really can't handle the other ones. So this morning I woke up and my head hurt in two places in the back of my head so bad. I was like Oh My Gosh! Why does my head hurt? What did I do?! Am I diseased?! But good to know folks I'm ok, my head just hurts from scrubbing so bad yesterday and leaning over to rub in the moose! (I obviously don't know how to spell moose either) So anyways no harm done!!!! Ok well for today we have Favorite Love Song!!!! This is a steamy category with a lot of good competitors but by far I think my favorite would have to be:
A WHOLE NEW WORLD!
It's just such a classic and a beautifully designed scene! I love this song so much, and is one of the many that I tend to sing in the shower! Be warned future roommies!

And you know what, Aladdin, I'm a let you finish, but Prince Edward had the best Love Song of all time! Of all time!

Day Nine and Day Ten

Soooo I kind of missed yesterdays post so to make up for it I'm doing days nine and ten at the same time!!! Ok so Day Number nine is my favorite original character which would have to by far go to my good friends Chip and Dale! They just have so much fun and they are by far some of the best characters to meet! (Not that I'm biased or anything) I love ya Chip and Dale!
I love these adorable chipmunks ever since I was little. Rescue Rangers was like the coolest show ever! I can't wait to get to hang out with them in about two weeks!

For day number ten it's my favorite song. Wellllll this is kind of a hard one but I'd have to say that I have a new favorite with Tangled's "When Will my Life Begin"

I just love this song, because it's kind of a get up off your feet inspirational jam! Plus I just love Rapunzel. But I should be having some more....more interesting posts coming up soon! Stay Tuned!

Day Eight dun dun dun dun!

I am don with my Freshman year!!!!! I still don't know if I can believe it! I am so excited about being done with finals and being able to focus on Disney. But I would be lying if I said i wasn't sad to leave too. I was super sad to leave my roommie and best friend who's heading off to Grad School! I'm so proud of her but I'm gonna miss her a ton. But don't worry, we already have skype dates planned out. But now comes the time when I'm supposed to start packing for Disney. I feel like i just keep looking at my stuff in disbelief. "I don't really have to pack again right?" I have motivation for Disney but not for packing. I also feel that my brain has turned to mush after finals after lots of late nights, one all nighter, and three 7:30 am finals, I'm pretty sure I won't be exercising my brain too much for a while.

Alright so the challenge for today is Villians ohhhhhh ahhhhhh scary!!!!!
This was a toughy because there are just so m any brilliant villians created by Disney. They all have their own little niche that makes them all their own. However in this case I would have to say that my favorite villain so far would have to be....
BOWLER HAT GUY! I love this Villian because, well in the end he's not really a villian at all. He's just a scared boy, but his hilarious antics throughout Meet the Robinsons, definitely makes him a favorite of mine! I love this guy!

Day Seven???

Ok so Blogspot apparently erased the blogs from yesterday. They said they're going to get it back eventually but who knows when that will be, so to recap yesterday was 101 Dalmatians as the best animals. OMG guys I am done with finals, I just have one more paper to write but I'm basically done! Woooo Hooo! I'm getting so close! So today's challenge is for the best sidekick! I can tell you right now this is a hard category. There are a lot of amazing sidekicks that have appeared in various Disney movies. The winner for today would have to be:
Timon and Pumbaa
Timon and Pumbaa!!! They are by far some of the best and most loyal sidekicks. I mean they saved Simba's life, brought him up as if he was their own son, and then they continue to help him and take care of his daughter too! They should by far win the best sidekick reward. They are hilarious, and lovable, and they even have their own movie and tv series. What other side kicks have that? Timon and Pumbaa win this round by a landslide!

This has got to be one of my favorite parts out of all the Disney movies. It's just so perfect I love Timon and Pumbaa!

Day FIVE: Favorite Hero!

Well first off finals week...Yeah, gotta love finals. However I'm getting close to done! I only have one more test type final today which is Biology yuck! And then I have three papers I get to do! Sounds like so much fun right?!
Ok maybe not! However the challenge for today is fun of course! Heroes!!!! I have decided that my favorite Disney hero would have to be Dash from the Incredibles! He's very heroic and funny, I just love him! Because when I think heroes I just can't help but thinking super heroes! So this round goes to Dash...hey, where'd he go?

Day FOUR: Your Favorite Prince

Soooo pretty sure that I just aced my Chemistry final!!!! High five!!!! It would be awesome if that actually worked out! Sooooooooo onto the Challenge for this week:

Day Numero Four: The bestest Prince is.....
It's a tie!!!!!! Between Flynn Rider and Prince Naveen! Flynn is the classic sarcastic, and funny guy who thinks he's a hit with the ladies. So is Prince Naveem, he thinks that he's all that and I just love the two of them!
Favorite Quotes from Flynn:
"You should know that this is the strangest thing I have ever done!"
"Really let that seep in. What are you getting? Because to me, that's part man-smell, and the other part is really bad man-smell. I don't know why, but overall it just smells like the color brown. Your thoughts?"
"I could get used to a view like this. Yep, I'm used to it. Guys I want a castle."
"I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes the smolder."
Favorite Quotes from Naveen:
"Kissing would be nice, yes?"
"I am... too wonderful?"
"You are secreting mucus."
"Whoa, oh, not so fast. I made that promise to a beautiful princess, not some cranky wai - why are those logs moving?"
"You have had quite an influence on me. Which is amazing because I have dated thousands of women and-No, like two, three... just other women! A-and anyway, you could not be more different! You know, you are - you are practically, heh, one of the guys!No no no! You are not a guy! Let me begin again! Uh..."

DAY THREE: Your Favorite Heroine

So guess what guys it's officially finals week! Which means that I am officially one step closer to Disney. Now I just have to get past three 7:30 am finals (no big) and my theatre final today! Seven thirty though really? I mean do we really have to torture us even more than we normally are during finals week by giving us a seven thirty final? Oh well, professor's way of...keeping us on our toes I guess... hmmm anyways off to the Challenge:

Day THREE:

Ok soooo favorite Disney Heroine. On this one I would just have to say Mulan. There are so many kick butt Disney Heroines but Mulan dressed like a man and joined the army to restore her father's honor. It really doesn't get more heroic than that! So taking this round by a Kung Fu Kick is Mulan!

Sunday, May 8, 2011

DAY TWO: Your favorite Princess

Ok first off before I resume my countdown I have a funny story. So I was walking back from the car one day minding my own business, when this shape darted under the car next to me. I smiled a got down on one knee and started calling "Here kitty kitty kitty" Because it's a common known fact that a lot of cats live around the house. What was I going to do with this cat when it came out? No idea. Could it have some raging infectious disease? Of course and yet I called "Here kitty kitty kitty." Suddenly the cat ran out at me, but it wasn't a cat it was a giant, enormous, towering raccoon staring up at me with it's beady little eyes!I screamed and curled myself into an awkward standing ball, then it bared its fangs and began charging at me like a bull on a rampage! I screamed like a sissy my arms flailing as I ran to the door, and when I turned around to see if it was hot on my trail...the ghost raccoon was gone. Lesson learned, do not mess with "cats" at night.

Anyways.....Day Two favorite Princess:
Well luckily this one is way easier than the last one and I would have to say by an overwhelming land slide for me it would have to be Ariel. She does not take no for an answer, and she really just wants to get out in the world and go on new adventures. She funny and curious and will do anything to get her man. Love ya Ariel!

DAY ONE YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER:

Well of all the first things to have on a challenge, this may well be the hardest one. Ok well I might have to go with a kind of old school classic one and a new one. Probably the classic one, is Simba from a Lion King. I was an animal lover when I was little, I wouldn't watch Cinderella on repeat it would be Dumbo on repeat. I have a close connection with this cute and lovable cub :)
The second and more recent one might have to be Maximus from Tangled. I absolutely love that mischievous horse. He is so loyal and is like a horse and a dog at the same time! I love him! Can't wait to get a Maximus stuffed animal I'm sure!
There are of course a ton that I didn't list! I love Stitch and could quote that movie by heart when I was little. I love Ariel, Cousin Ray, Dumbo, and Alice. It's so hard to pick between them all!

Disney College Recruiting

I screamed and cried and jumped up and down and my roommate was doing that with me! It was such an amazing moment because I know how hard it is to get character. And 5'2'' (Chipmunk height) is a hard height range to get. I was just so excited and proud of myself and I'm telling you I'm still on a high from yesterday. I still just can't believe it! I won't know exactly what characters I will be until I arrive there. But I know for sure I will be a base character like the chipmunks so I am so excited I love them! Plus it's a possibility that they already have me in mind for something else, or even that they could pull me for something else so I am so excited. I can't wait to go and make the magic happen with all of my new friends!

The funny part of this whole thing is that I thought I had bombed the character audition. Like the lady kept looking at me, but I was like...she's probably just look at me cause I can't dance whatsoever! Haha But apparently they saw what they needed in me! I'm so excited and can't wait to find out more when I get there. My position should be changing soon on the Disney College Program website in a couple of days and I'll let you know when that happens! Well that's it for now. Have a Magical Day!!!

Auditons!

I can't believe how close auditions actually are! They are literally a week from today and I am so excited! And I just can't hide it! I'm a real nerd and since my dream would be to be Alice in Wonderland I have been practicing the poem from the movie:
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
I know it's sort of silly and I'll probably never be asked to burst out suddenly into an Alice monologue, but I have to say it's fun to practice anyway. I've gotten some tips for auditions from some of my friends who have gone through auditions and made it so far and I figured they were good enough to share. So:
1. Wear bright colors! This is very important because they will be more likely to notice you in a group dance.
2. Be Big! If you feel like you are looking ridiculous you're probably doing it right!
3. SMILE! This is probably the most important thing! Disney is looking for happy smiling people who want to make the magic happen!
4. Talk to people! They are watching you from the minute you walk in that door. How you talk to people, how you carry yourself, if you're shy or outgoing. They are looking at you from the minute you enter the room.
Those are the biggest tips I have but I still am nervous but excited! I've heard the auditions are really fun! My height range for fur is Chipmunk height range which is awesome because who doesn't love Chip and Dale?! Well that's all for now folks! Bye!

New Post Time?

So today I felt was the day for a new post. The subject of this post you ask? But of course character auditions that are fast approaching! I will be trying out for character on March 24th in Austin! I am so excited but nervous as all get out for the chance the try out! The picture of Alice describes my range of emotions in a nutshell...

Now I would also be happy with the job I got offered. I got accepted for Attractions and requested (what else?) but Jungle Cruise and Kilimanjaro Safari! Because who doesn't want to crack jokes all day. I mean did you ever think about why Cinderella was so bad at baseball? Because she had a pumpkin for a coach and she kept running away from the ball!

At character auditions I know that I am not the best dancer in the world, I mean I don't think I can even Move it Like Bernie right. But I have been told that you don't have to be the best dancer in the world you just have to be big! And smile! And wear a bright colored shirt! And yes this was actual advice given to me. So my selection choices for a bright colored shirt is 1. A tennis ball colored shirt form my summer long tour in the CARA tennis program, 2. My neon colored shirt from Watermelon Bust, and 3. One of my many gold shirts that say LSU on them. Decisions decisions. Think think ponder ponder. Well I'm not sure for now, but I will keep you updated on the shirt selection.

So my height range for the audition is 5'2'' Disney height I doubt would move me because I fall right into Chipmunk Height Range! This is really exciting because this height range offers a wide range of options for fur! And for face character my height options would be Alice in Wonderland, Tinkerbell, and Wendy Darling. My absolute dream is to be Alice in Wonder land for Disney, I mean I feel like it could work...
She makes so many people happy and can really connect to the kids. But even if Alice didn't work out I would be overjoyed to have any of the other face characters or even a fur character. I mean if I was a face character I would also be a fur character anyways. But either way, a girl can dream and I can't wait to make a complete fool of myself at the auditions :)

Next post I will be delving into the 30 day photo challenge of Disney! Stay tuned!

And the Adventure Begins!

This is it people! It's the beginning of my blog! Dun dun dun! I decided that it might be a good idea to catalog my trip at Disney so everyone back home, and back in college could keep up with me, know what I'm doing, and generally see that I'm not having too much fun. Because it's Disney, so of course I'll never have too much fun... ;)

I wanted to start off this blog by introducing myself. I'm Mo I'm a Freshman at LSU and I've been accepted for the Fall Advantage Disney College Program for Attractions host, and potentially Character Performer, and I'm sooooooo excited to go! I literally can't contain my excitement it's like i'm bursting with happiness! Especially when I got my coveted purple folder. Kind of like this...
Ok, maybe it's hard to be as excited as Ariel! I'm so excited for this opportunity to have an amazing internship with a company the most amazing company that inspires happiness and magic, Walt Disney! I will have more posts coming up after this pertaining to my character auditions and other info! Thanks for tuning in guys and Have a Magical Day!
